How To Measure a Stump For Grinding
In order to provide an accurate quote, we require you to measure the size of your stump(s) as well as provide the tree species, level of accessibility, and location of the stump. Want to know how to measure a tree stump? Take these steps for correct measurement:
Diameter
Measure the diameter of the stump at its WIDEST where the root flare touches the ground. A large tree will typically have a significant flare at its base, meaning the diameter of the trunk flare will be much greater than the diameter of the stump cut.
Height
The height of the stump is typically just a few inches and measures from the ground to the top of the stump.
Other
Make note of any surface roots that extend beyond the trunk flare into the surrounding lawn.
